This page has pictures and descriptions from some of my activities,
extracurriculars, and/or achievements.
Track
I started track as an eighth grader and originally did 100 meter and 200
meter dash. I was put in the 800 meter run once and did not do very good.
Although I didn't think I could run the longer distances, such as the 800
meter or the mile, I did practice withthe distance part of the team. I
enjoyed that but stuck to my sprinting. In high school, as a freshman I
did track once again and told the coach I would do sprints. Our very first
meet, the coach need a substitute for a 800 meter relay and told me to
give it another try. I did and decided I would switch over to distance since
endurance could be improved but speed couldn't (I was the slowest, but I
also wasn't the fastest). Since then, I've stuck with distance and even
did Cross Country as a sophomore!
Easter Seals
I am currently a volunter member of Easter Seals of Appleton, Wisconsin.
Easter Seals is an organization that provides recreational opportunity for
children, helping children and adults with disabilities gain greater independence,
and more. Easter seals offers a variety of events for families to attend. For example,
during the holidays, Easter Seals had a holiday party for families completed
with games and food for everybody to enjoy.
AASD Tutoring Program
I am a volunteer member for the AASD Tutoring Program for the after school
Boys And Girls Club at Roosevelt Middle School. The program is a two hour
homework/quiet study program for kids to come after school to get homework
done or to get help. What I do is walk around helping each kid with their
questions and/or explaining their homework to them.
