The workshop, "7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens", taught by Mrs. Dechant
was a workshop where we learned how to be a more effective teen. We read
through the book and filled out the "Ultimate Guide Book" throughout the way.
Each habit we read through taught us to be more effective and taught us to
see the better side of life.
Sculpturizing!
After finishing with habit one (being proactive) in the book 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens and watching the movie The Pursuit of Happyness, we split
into groups of four to five people and were given the assignment to sculpture
what we thought of the habit one. My group got inspired by the movie and decided
to use the word "happyness". When we thought of "happyness", we thought of
good memories or things that made us happy. So with that in mind, we decided
to make a puzzle or collage of all the things that made each of us happy or
memories of us when we were happy that when put together, would spell the
word "happyness". Since each of us are different, we brought in different pictures
our piece of happyness.
Display Case
Two other people and myself were assigned to set up the tech lab display case with
everybody's work from Mrs. Dechant's fifth hour seminar, 7 Habits of Highly Effective
Teens. At first, we were thinking "oh yeah, this will be easy and fun." But we soon
realized we were wrong. Space was limited and we had some massive projects to display.
We had a project that was suppose to be hung up and we didn't have anything to
suspend it from. It was an overall challenge for the three of us but we worked together
to find out what looks good where and what should be moved. We did rearranged a
couple of times, but I'd say I'm proud of our display case and our work definitely paid off.
